What is Manda??
It is the supernatant liquid portion of the preparation (supernant liquid portion of rice preparation)
Ingredients:
• 1 part of Tandula (rice)
• 14 parts of water
Method of Preparation
The rice is cooked in the said proportion of water and later only the supernatant water portion is utilized for consumption.
Properties: It is light to digest
Actions: Helps in increasing appetite, maintains digestive fire

ASTAGUNA MANDA:
Ingredients:
• Rice- 4 parts
• Green gram- 1 part
• Long pepper, Pepper, Ginger, Coriander, and Ghee fried Asafoetida-1 part
• Water – 14 parts
Method of Preparation
Rice and green gram is taken and required proportion of water is added .The other ingredients are added and boiled till the rice is cooked properly. Later the supernatant liquid is decanted and used.

VATYA MANDA
Ingredients
• Barley (dehusked) – 1 part
• Water -14 parts
Method of preparation
Dehusked barley is taken and roasted properly, then required quantity of water is added and cooked. The liquid portion is decanted and used for consumption.
Properties:
• Dry
• Helps in balancing Kapha and pitta dosha
• Helps cure bleeding disorder

Laja is cooked properly with required quantity of water. The liquid is drained and consumed with proper adjuvant.

• Laja manda is best administered with long pepper and ginger
• It is carminative, increases digestive capacity and good for heart.
