A delegation from the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, led by Dr. A. Raghu, DDG (Ayush), DGHS, along with Dr. Rahul Jain and Dr. Raman Kaushik, participated in the 15th Annual WHO International Regulatory Cooperation for Herbal Medicines (WHO IRCH) meeting in Istanbul, Turkey, from April 16th to 20th, 2024. The Indian delegation made presentations on Ayush drug regulation, safety and quality of Ayush medicine, efficacy of Ayush medicine, and the International Herbal Pharmacopoeia. The meeting, attended by delegations from 42 countries, underscored global cooperation in promoting standards and effectiveness in herbal medicine regulation.

On 23.04.2024 a meeting was convened in the Ministry of Ayush to explore enhanced cooperation in the field of Traditional Medicine. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Ambassador of Vietnam to India, accompanied by an Attaché from the Political and Economic Section of the Vietnam Embassy to India, joined Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary Ayush, along with other senior officials. Secretary Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, highlighted Surat’s remarkable achievement of setting a world record during the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2023. He emphasized the city’s unwavering commitment to yoga in commemorating this day. Secretary Ayush mentioned that 23.5 crore people participated in IDY 2023, anticipating an even higher participation this year. Additionally, he announced that the 25th countdown to IDY 2024 will take place at Bodhgaya.
