Tips to boosting the immune system- (Immunity/Vyadhikshamatwa means resistance to illness development).
- Regular exercise – walking, swimming, gym activities etc any kind of physical activities are done regularly for 30-45 min which increases circulation of immune systems.
- Practising yoga & Pranayama – helps to strengthen and develop positive health enabling us to withstand stress better. It increases the drainage of lymph (rich in immune cells), helps to fight infection, destroys cancerous cells and disposes of toxic waste from cells.
- Get good sleep – it’s very important to get good sleep at least 6-8 hrs after your hard work which releases cytokines which repair damaged cells and can generate new cells thereby helping in the immune system.
In case of disturbed sleep – Internally, powder of coriander seed +gulkand and ashwagandha
- Home remedies –
- drink herbal tea made from tulasi, dalchini, pepper, shunti with jaggery.
- Ksheera ghrita – daily intake of 1 glass of cow’s milk with 1-2 tsp Cow’s ghee is called nitya rasayana.
- 150 ml milk with ½ tsp of haridra as golden milk boosts immunity
- For immunity – 50ml of fresh Amla juice,10 ml ardraka juice & 5ml of Lemon juice.
- Boil Garlic bulb in milk & water until only milk remains. Garlic can boostthe number of virus-fighting cells in the bloodstream
- Boils, skin eruptions etc. – 1tsp of powder Brahmi + ashwagandha in one glass of water. Filter it & drink daily.
- Intake of a nutritionally balanced diet – As per Ayurveda shad rasayukta (6 types of rasas) ahara nourishes all the dhatus.
Minerals in home remedies –
- Tamra Jala – copperized water is safe, a natural antioxidant & anti-carcinogenic. It is absorbed by cells & enhances hydration.
- Saindhava/ Rock salt – best salt contains more than 50 trace minerals.
- Seasonal fruits in the form of salads with spices recommended which are rich in minerals should be taken in an empty stomach for good absorption. Fruits such as milkshakes are contraindicated as per Ayurveda which causes indigestion due to virudda ahara
- Different millets rich in proteins & minerals are prepared in the form of beverages, porridge, kichadi, dosa, upma, kheer etc.
- Nuts are used in the form of drink & kheer with milk after proper soaking in water.
Tips to skincare –
- Nitya abhyanga – Body massage with ghrita or coconut oil processed with turmeric, amla, neem, aloe vera, Chandana helps to brighten the dull skin.
- Preparation of Snana churna – paste of dry powders of green gram+ methi+ haridra+ neem + karanja+ triphala+ tulsi+ masoor daal in hot water used before bath instead of soap, which is good for skin diseases like pimples, eczema, psoriasis & fungal skin diseases.
- On acne – Paste of tomato with a pinch of dalchini +haridra applied & washed with hot water
- Paste of dry powder of methi+ masoor dal + badam applied with egg albumen or milk helps to increase complexion and control wrinkles.
Tips to Haircare –
- 5gm of amla +3 gm guduchi + 3g gokshura powder mixed well should be taken in an empty stomach in the morning with honey helps to control hair fall & grey hair.
- Application of paste of mehendi +amla +methi +triphala powder over the scalp and keep it for 3 hrs after that is washed off. It should be twice in a week for better results.
- For hair problems– Coconut oil processed with amla + onion + methi + alovera + hibiscus leaves + tila + tulsi. Gentle circular massages with this oil regularly to the hair root helps in hair problems.
- For hair wash – Powder of Ritha, shikhakkai, alovera & amalaki used.
Tips to female health-
- In case of heavy bleeding intake 4 tsp of pudina juice mixed with 5gm of sugar candy twice a day.\
- Intake of durva juice with sugar candy helps in heavy bleeding.
- 1 tsp of radish seed paste mixed in buttermilk helps in an irregular cycle.
- Intake of Sounf decoction with honey helps in painful periods.
- Intake of shatavari, aloe vera helps in the normal functioning of reproductivesystems.
