- Triphala & Dates Liver Balls which is Rasayana-rich, liver-loving sweet that’s as delicious as it is therapeutic.
Ingredients (for 8–10 small balls)
- Seedless soft dates – 1 cup (approx. 15 dates)
- Grated dry coconut – ½ cup
- Cow ghee – 1 to 2 tbsp
- Triphala powder – 1 to 1½ tsp
- Cardamom powder -a pinch
- Dry ginger – ½ tsp
Method of Preparation
- Soak the dates in warm water for 5–10 minutes and then Chop or mash them into a smooth paste.
- In a heavy pan, lightly roast the grated dry coconut on low flame until aromatic. Set aside.
- In the same pan, warm the ghee and add the mashed dates. Sauté gently for 3–4 minutes until it begins to clump and leave the sides.
- Add Triphala powder and mix thoroughly.
- Add cardamom powder and dry ginger and mix it well.
- Turn off the flame.
- Once slightly cooled, shape the mixture into small balls using your palm. Roll in dry coconut if desired.
- Store in an airtight container. Consume 1 ball daily – preferably after lunch or dinner.
- Can be used as an evening snack.

- It is a Combiner or Anupana for Rasayana herbs like Triphala, it nourishes ojas, balances Pitta, and enhances absorption of phytochemicals.

- Known as Shunthi, it is Deepana-Pachana in nature.
