Why Grooming Matters in Ayurveda
Ayurveda teaches that your body is like a temple and skin( twak) is its outer wall- just like temple is sacred and well maintained, our body too should be honoured by proper routines and lifestyle. In the same way , as walls of a temple protect and reflects temple’s inner sanctity ,our skin is the mirror of body’s inner dosha balance (Vata , Pitta and Kapha). When internal systems( like Digestion or hormones) are imbalanced ,it immediately shows upon on the skin in the form of acne, dryness, dullness or inflammation.Hence, the skin is highly sensitive to imbalances within. The hair especially facial hair in men, is an extension of the Asthi dhatu(Bones) and its strength, color and growth depends on overall vitality. When they are nourished properly ,skin glows with Tejas(Radiance) and hair thrives with Ojas (Immunity and vitality).
