A delegation of the Ministry of Ayush visited Denmark to engage in discussions with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA). The delegation was led by Dr. A. Raghu, Deputy Director General (Ayush), DGHS along with Dr. Raman Kaushik, OSD (T) to the Secretary, Ministry of Ayush; Dr. J. B. Gupta, Secretary, World Ashwagandha Council; Dr. Shoibal Mukherjee, Head of Medical Research, Medanta; and Dr. Rakesh Khadgawat, Professor in the Department of Endocrinology at AIIMS, New Delhi. A significant part of the discussions centered around Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), a key herb in the Ayush systems and its regulation in Denmark. The delegation highlighted various research studies on the herb proving its safety.
